Well My friends, its 2025 and time for some Diving !
2024 was a long year, our dive season was cut short by wildfires and an early winter here in the great state of Wyoming, never the less we managed to get a few local dive videos up, and some decent videos from Monterey CA.
Odin Technical got to go to DEMA 2024 in Las Vegas last year thanks the the generosity of our friends at Dive 1st Aid. It was a great show even though from all accounts the crowd was down this year. Our staff got to mingle with great people from all over the industry and make some new friends. The SCUBA community is generally a friendly bunch and meeting divers from all over the world is always a great experience. Hopefully we will make it back this year in Orlando.
What can you expect this year from Odin Technical?
This year we hope to expand the content we provide. Our main focus will be in the dive videos of course, but we are also gearing up to bring you our new “Aegir Tech Notes ” videos, where we talk to manufactures about their products and give them the option to make their case as to why they are the best ! We will also talk to dive shops and give them the same opportunity as well as let them tell you about their services and equipment.
We started this series with NEX underwater products in Monterey CA in December 2024 on a unplanned whim. The video gives you great information even if the production value was a little under done ( my fault ) . Since Episode 1, I have been working with our staff to improve the quality and make the experience more of an interview / discussion format, something a bit more thought out then showing up to talk shop about quite possibly the best mask I have ever worn ( the ABI 7.0 ) and breaking out a camera. I have to be honest their products are amazing and if you haven’t watched the video, its worth your time. If I get a chance to dive one of their regulator sets I will definitely be doing a video review of the product to give you my insights. Again Fantastic products !
We will also be introducing our first 360ยบ videos this year. Our primary sponsor Aquatic Scuba Adventures in Sheridan WY picked up one of the new Insta360 cameras at DEMA and as soon as our lake thaws out, we will be firing it up and starting to play.
I am hoping to also find more time ( or put more time ) into this section of the site. Thus far I have really only posted about once a year, choosing instead to focus on the video content. I am not a great writer by nature and as many of you I’m sure will have noticed, my spelling and grammar have always left a bit to be desired. That said I think its time that it became more developed. I will also be adding links to SDI blog entries to give our audience more variety on what can be found here.
Lastly I am hoping to fire up a very limited online store, I have no idea if anyone who comes here would want merch, but theres only one way to find out and thats to launch it and see if it sells. ( thats really last on the agenda, I’m not in this for the money. I keep this site and make content because its fun. )
I hope we manage to meet all our goals for this year, Odin Technical is not a business currently but a group of like minded people having a good time doing the things they enjoy. We try to promote shops and business’s in the industry not for gain but to help new divers ( and experienced ones ) find the information they want or need. We want to make it easy to find that new BC or reg set with out spending a fortune going through five of them, find the class you want to take to further your dive certs, or even to help you find the shop you want to start your journey with.
Our goal is to bring more good people to the world of diving and help them to stay safe and having fun.
Thank you from all of us at Odin Technical for joining us here and on our Rumble channels. Please remember to sign up with Rumble, follow and give us a thumbs up. It helps us get our content our to the folks who might want see it.
